Buying from us
When you place an order with us, you are making an offer to buy goods. We will send you an e-mail to confirm that we have received your order.
Once we have checked the price and availability of the goods, we will e-mail you again to confirm that we accept your order, and that a contract has been made between us. We will not take payment from you until we have accepted your order.
In the event that the goods are no longer available, or that we have made a pricing mistake, we will advise you of this.
We accept orders through our website or by email. For web orders, we accept all major credit and debit cards. For security reasons, once your payment has been processed we do not store your credit card details either electronically or on paper.
Payment for all is securely handled by PayPal merchant services.
Back orders
If the item you order from our website is not in stock, we will notify you either by phone or email and will give you the option to either cancel your order or wait until the goods are back in stock.
Guarantee
All products sold at thebirdfeeder.co.uk come with a 14-day guarantee. If you are not satisified you may return the goods to us for a full refund no questions asked.
Prices and VAT
As we primarily sell to private individuals all prices shown on this site include VAT. The full order price including VAT and delivery will be shown at the checkout. Delivery charges are extra.
Although we make every effort to ensure the prices on the website are correct, mistakes may sometimes be made. If we discover a mistake in the price of the products you have ordered prior to their dispatch, we will tell you and give you the option of either reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling your order. If we are unable to contact you or we receive no reply from you we will cancel your order.
Thebirdfeeder.co.uk reserve the right to change prices listed without notice.
All orders for products are subject to availability and Thebirdfeeder reserves the right to refuse to supply to any individual or company.
Delivery
If the goods are lost or damaged in transit, please let us know within 7 days of receipt, so that we can make a claim against the carriers. We will offer you the choice of a replacement or a full refund on receipt of returned goods.
Most orders 5-7 days delivery. Remote areas including the islands and highlands may take longer to deliver but should be no more than 10 working days unless otherwise stated.
Our preferred UK courier is Royal Mail. Overseas carriers may vary.
Privacy Policy
We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998).
We collect information about you for two reasons: firstly, to process your order and second, to provide you with the best possible service. We will not e-mail you in the future unless you have given us your consent. We will give you the chance to refuse any marketing email from us and we do NOT share any of your personal information with other companies.

Returns Policy
The Bird Feeder has a 14-day returns policy for all products on our website as required under the Distance Selling Regulations of 2000. The following terms and conditions apply to all refunds.
You must inform us in writing, by email info@thebirdfeeder.co.uk within 14 days of receipt of your order (the date of delivery will be recorded by our carriers) that you wish to return goods or if you have any damages, faults or shortages.
The Bird Feeder cannot accept responsibility after this period.
Goods must be returned in their original packaging. Goods should not have been installed, modified or used in any way and should be in an undamaged condition.
For unwanted items the cost of carriage incurred for sending the goods out will be deducted from the refund and the customer is responsible for any return carriage.
The Bird Feeder will in no way be liable for any costs incurred due to faulty goods or shortages.
These terms were last changed on 1st October January 2009.
These terms apply to your order. We may change our terms and conditions at any time, so please do not assume that the same terms will apply to future orders. your standard terms, those changes will only apply to new contracts.
